Unusual Lafette 42 Tripod

Lafette 42, from the research I have done this appears to be a WW2 German one from which Yugoslavia, as part of its rebuild programme, has removed all German markings, not one remains nor any sign of them, very neatly done. The strange part is that it does not have an optical sight bracket, nor does it appear to have ever had one! I have never seen this before so if anyone has any ideas as to why I would like to receive them............

Condition overall is very good, retains most paint, with just a few chips here and there. The elevation gear is a bit stiff, but that could be old grease which has thickened or hardend, the blued components retain their finish and are still coated in grease.
