Rare 3" Mortar tube Mk1 dating from the pre/early war period. In 1948 it was converted to a APL (Apperatus Practicing Loading), we have had a suitable thickness steel plate rolled and inserted to return it to its early war appearance, there are some signs of the replacement but you'd have to look for them.
An early Mk1 sight and WW2 leather muzzle cover are included in the price. This is a very rare item, I only know of two Mk1's which have not been converted to APL's and none which have been restored to their original appearance, and as it is from my collection I shall be sorry to see it go. in time I will be listing all the accessories I have for it, which is most of the CES kit.
Mk1's can be seen still in action in many WW2 photos taken in the Western Desert and in Burma.
It is too heavy to post so buyer must collect
The lbipod and baseplate would fit the 1944 MkIV tube we are selling and if both were purchased it would give the buyer the opportunity to do both pre/early war and late war. Sale is for Mortar tube, baseplate and bipod only, accessories shown will be sold separately.
Cleaned, prepped and sprayed, ready to display. Traverse is a bit stiff.
Deactivated in our own workshop to 2010 spec in 2025 as per Home Office specification as mortars were not included in the EU specification. Comes with Birmingham Proof House certificate.
Support weapons are not included in the Euro 2016 or 2018 specifications and the Home Office has instructed that they are to be deactivated to the 2010 UK specification, so there is no change on these.
