The main rifle used during WW1 by Turkish forces, notably at Gallipoli in 1915, these rifles which were derived from the G98 and made in Germany (which is why we have included it under the German Mauser heading as well) in 7.65x53mm and were reworked at the Arms Factory (ASFA) at Ankara during the 1930's and converted to 8mm. Photos of the Turkish army at Gallipoli show them carrying M1903's. The excellent reference book 'Mauser Military Rifles' by Robert Ball states that the last orders for new Turkish Mauser Model M1903 was in 1909. This example retains its WW1 appearance, only the 1938 date shows that it has been refurbished. The rifle is in overall very good condition, and has the 'charger guide bolt catch' peculiar to this model. Complete with 2018 EU Spec deactivation certificate. An impressive 'long' rifle.
